I can't stand jewelry that breaks the second day you have it! So check out the ingredients within this jewelry. The clasps are of highest quality and the easiness of "off and on" is so apparent in Arkay Designs. Pieces are easy to operate, as well as being VERY comfortable. Glass beads are a fascinating and beautiful creation! Glass beads are recorded as being created, traded, and worn by the earliest civilized societies from Egyptians to Romans. Some of the beads that are used include Czech druk beads, cat's eye beads, furnace glass beads, and lampwork beads. Glass druk beads are versatile and unique beads. The silver beads are either from Thailand or they are Bali style. I also buy Bali silver clasps. "Seed beads" are mostly used, which are glass, but so light. This seems to make the jewelry very comfortable. Bali silver is individually crafted from sterling silver by numerous bead artisans in Bali. This obviously denotes variations in color and why some beads look slightly different sometimes from one another.
These clasps are not only incredible quality, they are wonderful to get on and off! No more asking someone around you to "put your necklace on!"
If you'll notice, some of the leather/bead combinations can be worn as just the leather necklace or the beaded necklace. Of course it was designed to wear both, however, my sister tried taking hers apart because she thought just the one was perfect for what she was wearing that day. I told her that I would make the necklaces versatile then, for her convenience. So, essentially you get this type of necklace "2 for 1!" Great idea Shelby!!
Information will be updated as I go, but so far a quality 1mm or 2mm leather is used with all of the leather necklaces and combination leather and bead pieces. And the elastic product that is used is called "Stretch Magic," which is a high quality elastic specially designed for making jewelry. Also used are quality brand name string and/or wire, such as "Dandyline." Please enjoy...
I've just added a wonderful 3mm width quality Greek Leather from a company out of Boston, www.mykonosbeads.com , who imports this incredible product as well as other beads and pendants that are proving to be beautifully unique. With my designs and this product, you will definitely have an inconceivably gorgeous piece! There are now color choices of leather to go with the Yoga-Inspired line and now the newly added "Only For Men" line.
